The Renishaw RMP40 is the first machine tool probe to use frequency hopping (FHSS) transmission. This ultra-compact RMP40 probe is especially suited to multi-axis and mill-turn applications, whilst its variant, the RLP40 touch probe, is specifically designed for more hostile turning environments. A transmission only module RMP40M is also now available.
The Renishaw RMP40 is the latest generation radio transmission spindle probe available from Renishaw, and boasts being one of the smallest, measuring just 40mm (diameter) x 50mm (height) and offers the following features. The robust transmission protocol and small body make the RMP40 the ideal choice for multi-tasking applications where the line-of-sight between probe and interface cannot always be maintained.
- Proven kinematic design
- Secure frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS)
- 2.4 GHz waveband compliant with radio regulations in all major markets
- Ultra-compact design
- 1µm 2σ repeatability.
- Operate over a 15 meter range
- Stainless steel uni-body (combined probe and transmitter)
- Turned on via a radio pulse from the RMI or using the on-board centrifugal switch
