The Renishaw LP2 modular probe has a robust design For workpiece inspection and job set‑up on all sizes of lathes, machining centers and CNC grinders. The LP2 is also used in special applications where its small body makes it suitable for gauging workpiece features with restricted access. This universal probe can be fitted to optical, inductive and radio transmission probing systems. An array of sockets and adaptors are available to support various applications.

Description
The Renishaw LP2 probe is the standard lathe inspection probe. Its’ small body makes it suitable for gauging workpiece features with restricted access. LP2 compact probes are sealed for use within the machine`s hostile environment of coolant and hot metal chips. LP2, LP2H and LP2DD probes can be used in optical, inductive and hard-wired systems. Optical transmission is best suited to field retrofitting and optional fitment. The LP2 comes in the following configurations:
- LP2, standard compact design
- LP2H, higher spring force for longer styli
- LP2DD, increased protection from coolant
- LP2HDD, higher spring force and increase protection
